Reaching out across the Region

'Wild Apples' is a mixed media painting currently on show through DAGFAS at their winter Exhibition at the Eskdalemuir Community Hub. The fruit-laden tree was probably spawned from a discarded apple core, tossed from the window of a moving train on the old Mossdale-Stranraer line many years ago. Somehow a pip germinated, fought its way to the light through the undergrowth, and sixty years on has valintly matured and fruited against all the odds. The colours of autumn enhanced the rosy fruit even more giving the painting a jewel-like quality .
